Okay, let’s dive in and get serious, I know you’re here because you are seriously considering me to be your wedding photographer and oooooowwwweeeee am I excited about it! I also know that you’ve been researching a lot of other photographer’s websites, checking pricing, making sure they are within your budget, reading about me’s to see who would be the perfect addition to your day. etc, etc. I’m sure all the people you’re checking out are fuckin’ dope ass talented people but the main difference between me and them, is that I don’t want to convince you to be here. I am not a cars salesman trying to convince you, you need me. I’m more like a mochi -donut ( yes, currently eating one) I want you, to not only want me, but like kinda be obsessed with me. Let me explain:

I don’t want to be just a vendor you’re crossing off your list. I want you to be vibin’ with my work but can not for the life of you get a photo of mine out of your head. I want you to be so in love you’re stalking my Instagram humming “crazy in love” subconsciously in your head. yeah that’s right, I'm hoping you’re at that level of obsessed!! I want you to be going to your fiance` saying “babe! look at her work!” scrolling through my website every free moment you have, just drooling.

(Side note: I’m starting to really think the mochi-donut analogy is kinda on point.)

Even if you can’t put into words why you love it, just vocalizing you’re obsessed and you NEED me to be the one to photograph your wedding, is already the best sign.

If you end up choosing me to be your photographer then, you are not just investing in a service, you’re investing in me, Maria, a human. Maria, the human/ photographer, has invested in herself, like alot. (okay I gotta get out of third person, who the fuck do I think I am) I am so obsessed with photography, I have invested time and money into this art form because I couldn’t even bare to think about doing anything else. Getting my fine art degree in photography, was the hardest & best thing I’ve ever done. From the moment I was 16, when I started to really learn what photography can do, it was all I could imagine myself doing. So, I am not just a monetary investment but also an emotional one, and that goes for anyone you decide to invite to your wedding. I never over-look that. When you click “ submit” on my contact form, you’re literally inviting me to your wedding, so yeah I never take that for granted.

When I was planning my wedding, I wanted to be surrounded by people that cared and actually gave a fuck about my day; and I plan to do that for every couple of mine. & quote me when I say, “I GIVE A FUCK.” That’s why we get on the phone multiple times while you’re planning your wedding. We review your timeline, we plan your engagement session, pick out outfits, dm back and forth dress designers & floral inspo. I am a helping hand in any aspect of your day, because I want to be your friend, Maria (your friend/ mochi-donut), celebrating with you on your wedding day, never a stranger. There should not be one stranger there on your wedding day. The best names I have had past couples call me are “fairy godmother” and “honorary bridesmaid” & Yeah, it feels fuuuckkkking amazing to be at that level of friend!

Before, you commit to this photo-marriage, here are three things you need to know.

1. I’m an artist first

I thrive on sublime connectivity. I fell in love with photography because it is the only way us humans can travel though time to relive each memory. So (again) if you’re looking for someone to just start shooting, shopping around for the cheapest deal, or just trying to check "photographer" off of your long list of wedding to-do's, we aren’t probably the best match for each other. & that's SO okay! You deserve the most incredible photo-friend there at your wedding day with you!

But if you love having a good time, trying new things, getting a little weird for the sake of art, value art, and are cool with me dancing with you on the dance floor, then we are a match made. If you want your wedding photos to feel like a mix of stills from a Lana Del Ray music video & a Vogue Editorial, then shit, we might be soulmates.

2. We gotta have fun

I really value fun. I want you to have a damn good time at your wedding, just as much as I want to have a damn good time at your wedding.

My couples don’t have to fly me across the country for me to want to be their photographer. They do have to be kind, confident in what they want but still willing to go with the flow of their day. They need to laugh at themselves and try to have a fun time. Wedding days never go exactly as planned, one little thing always goes wrong but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a perfect wedding day. Which goes into my last point.

3. I need your trust

& the most important thing, I need you to trust me. Your honesty, vulnerability and trust is all I ask to ensure I can 1, capture you 2, make dope ass art 3. have a good ass fuckin time. My “ideal client” doesn’t look a certain way. I’m not desperately seeking certain skin tones, body types, or even sexual orientations. I never go into a wedding day or session with pre-mediated photos in my head. I could care less what is “Instagram worthy” and more about delivering you with hundreds of moments that feel and look like yourselves. I can only do this if you allow me to help you get out of your own head so you can be in the moment with your partner, which does involve a lot of trust. If you don’t trust me, then you will most likely not like your photos, not like your experience, and will not be having fun, which sucks for all of us.
